1. What this site is

Codex Civica publishes reformatted, machine-assisted renderings of publicly available legislation of the State of Israel. It is an independent, unofficial reference project produced by JustSocial. It is not a government publication, is not affiliated with the Knesset, the Israeli government, or any ministry, and has no official standing.

The texts on this site are derived from public PDF sources through an automated extraction, OCR, and reconciliation pipeline, with conservative but imperfect reconstruction of structure and hierarchy. Errors, omissions, outdated versions, and regions marked as uncertain may occur.

  • Content on this site does not constitute legal advice.
  • Content on this site must not be relied upon as an authoritative or up-to-date statement of the law.
  • For any legal, professional, or official purpose, always consult the official publication (Reshumot / the relevant government gazette) or a qualified legal professional.

3. Acceptable use

You may browse, read, link to, and share this site's content for personal, educational, journalistic, or research purposes. You may not:

  • represent content from this site as an official government publication or as legal advice;

  • misrepresent the origin or authorship of the underlying legislative text.

4. Intellectual property

The underlying legislative texts are public in nature. The specific compilation, formatting, structural markup, and any original commentary or code on this site are provided by the project maintainers. The source code for the site and conversion pipeline is available at the project's GitHub repository under the license specified there, where applicable.

This site may link to external sites (including official government sources and GitHub). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of third-party sites.

6. No warranty; limitation of liability

This site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the project maintainers are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on this site's content.
